Easy peasy meat-free sausage rolls

Party food. Comfort food. The ultimate snack food. You can whip up a batch in 30 minutes or less — and, best of all, they're 100% kind to animals. (Check out the video here!)


  • 1 brown onion
  • 2 garlic cloves
  • 1/2 cup raw cashews
  • 300g of tofu
  • 1/2 cup of breadcrumbs
  • 3 tablespoons of soy sauce
  • 1 teaspoon of paprika
  • 1 teaspoon of dried sage
  • 1/2 cup fresh basil
  • 2 sheets of puff pastry, thawed but keep cold


  1. Combine all ingredients (except the pastry!) in a food processor to make the mixture
  2. Cut puff pastry sheets into 4 equal squares
  3. Spread a line of mixture down the middle of the puff pastry squares, then roll up, pressing the edges together to seal
  4. Brush the tops with a little dairy-free milk and sprinkle with sesame seeds
  5. Line a shallow tray with non-stick paper, lay out the sausage rolls and bake for 20 mins at 200 degrees
  6. Stuff your face or impress the socks off your friends by stuffing theirs!
