Lemony grilled asparagus with toasted almonds

Chargrilled to smoky perfection, this zesty asparagus is a perfect accompaniment to any main meal -- or even just on it's own!


  • 2-3 bunches of green asparagus spears
  • Olive oil
  • Salt and freshly ground black pepper
  • Fresh lemon wedges, to serve
  • Toasted, slivered or flaked almonds, to serve


  1. Trim the tough ends from the asparagus, then brush lightly with olive oil.
  2. Grill asparagus spears over medium heat for 2-3 minutes until lightly charred, but still with a bit of crunch.
  3. Transfer to a serving plate, sprinkle with salt and pepper.
  4. Scatter over the toasted almond flakes and serve with lemon wedges on the side. Best enjoyed warm!
