Chocolate Brownies

Chewy on the inside, crunchy on the outside... so delicious & easy to make.


  • For brownies:
  • 2 cups all purpose flour
  • 2 cups white sugar
  • 3/4 cup unsweetened cocoa
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 cup vegetable oil
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • For icing:
  • 1/2 cup dairy-free margarine
  • 2 cups icing sugar
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
  • 2 tablespoons soy milk (or oat, rice, almond etc)
  • 1/3 cup cocoa powder
  • Pinch of salt


  1. Pre - heat oven to 175
  2. Grease 20 x 30 cm (or similar) baking tray
  3. Mix all dry ingredients together
  4. Add wet ingredients and stir well
  5. Pour mixture into baking tray and bake 25-30 minutes
  6. Cool for 10 minutes and move to cooling rack
  7. When cooled, combine all icing ingredients, ice brownies and serve.
